Your Child Progresses Through Four Essential Stages:
Short Vowels are the first books and start with very simple consonant-vowel-consonant words (CVC words) with a focus on each of the short vowel sounds. 5 books focused on the short sound ă, 5 on short ĕ and so forth.
Blends: putting two letters together that make two sounds. like bl, cr, and st
Digraphs: two letters when put together make one sound like sh, th, and wh
Long Vowels: Two vowel words where the first vowel says its name and the e is silent.
